A WORLD TO SHAPE, a documentary by @tonvanzantvoor A WORLD TO SHAPE, a documentary by @tonvanzantvoort, who followed me and the inspiring and funny @davehakkens for over a year. How do we, as young Dutch designers, deal with a world full of pollution, consumerism and threatening climate change? I think it became a beautiful and honest portrait of our dreams, our ambitions and our struggles. Tomorrow it will be broadcasted on Dutch television at @closeup.avrotros at 22.40. Afterwards it can also be watched via NPO Start. At some point it will be available for the rest of the world, but first it’s traveling to different cinemas around the world.

Many thanks to Ton, for capturing my story through such a poetic eye, and to the whole team of @elbestevensfilms for making this film possible. And of course to all my dear colleagues at @zee.fier, who are such an important part of realizing my dream come true! And to @tim.jongerius, my rock and inspiration.

I was shocked and saddened to hear today that Marc I was shocked and saddened to hear today that Marcus Fairs has passed away. My thoughts go out to his family, friends and the team at Dezeen.

Marcus' support has meant a lot to me over the years. I am grateful to him for his authenticity, braveness, honesty and kindness. I will miss him.
This cabinet is a result from the artist in reside This cabinet is a result from the artist in residence project in Schloss Hollenegg - @schlosshollenegg
The cabinet is inspired on Chinese silk tapestries from the castle.

The cabinet is Made in China, literally as wel as figuratively. The label ‘Made in China’ often has a negative association, because of questionable working conditions and large-scale factories. We wanted to challenge this assumption and see how something of high quality craft could be produced in full transparency. The studio choose to only use materials from the silk production chain, so that even the byproduct would have value. The cabinet consists of a mulberry wood frame and embroidered silk organza panels.

The complete cabinet represents the process through which it was made and the abstract design of the embroidery is a map which represents the production places of the whole production process.

This project was a collaboration with Tim Jongerius @tim.jongerius

Big thanks to curator @alicestori, our Chinese guide @hezhi_recycle_studio and our translator Man Yang.

Besides the HIDE Blanket, we sell 3 unique bowls f Besides the HIDE Blanket, we sell 3 unique bowls from the Waterschappen project on @catawiki

Find the link in the bio. The bowls are sold per piece.

Back in 2016, we collaborated with @efgf_waterschappen to create a collection of objects made out of wastewater. Wastewater is used by the Water Authorities to recover energy and raw minerals. Used toilet paper is such raw material. One of those materials is used toilet paper (cellulose). The project's goal was to make this material have a positive connotation. As a result, unique handcrafted objects are made from cleaned pulp.
The collection that was made out of the raw materials consisted of a big table, lighting, and decorative bowls to show how this ‘waste’ material can be integrated into our homes. Within this auction, three original bowls are sold.

The auction was initiated by @craftsnl

The color produced by one of the sea's finest, sea The color produced by one of the sea's finest, seaweed, is one to 'dye' for.

The wonderful world of dyeing fabric and textiles is depicted in the new @textielmuseum exhibition titled 'To dye for.' It demonstrates the vast array of possibilities for creating colors for textiles.

The coat is made in collaboration with @_thelinenproject who were responsible for growing and harvesting the yarn. Did you know that Flax used to be cultivated in the Netherlands? The linen project has ensured that after 100 years linen can be grown again in The Netherlands. Together with @enschedetextielstad it was possible to produce a piece of linen out of the yarns from The Linen Project, which was used to create the jacket. The linen is dyed with seaweed dyes from @zee.fier.

Come see the various colors used to make this kimono with its seaweed details.

The exhibition will be on display at the Textielmuseum in Tilburg to October 2nd, 2022.

Please check their website for special closing days like kings day.

This is your last opportunity to buy the last HIDE This is your last opportunity to buy the last HIDE Grey Blanket!

Today at 12:00 am (CEST) begins the auction of the HIDE grey blanket on Catawiki. This product is selected together with @craftsnl and is the last remaining piece of an edition of 10. You can find the link for the auction in our bio.

Nienke Hoogvliet noticed that today’s society thinks of vulnerability as weak, while Nienke thinks it can lead to strength and protection. She sees blankets as a metaphor for the feeling of protection, which is why she designed one fragile and one protective. Skin inspired the design because it borders our inner world from the outside one. One fragile human skin and one thick and rigid elephant skin. The title ‘Hide’ captures it all: conceal, cover and skin.

Not only the work HIDE will be sold during this auction, but also three unique pieces from the project ‘Waterschatten’.
