The Bare Bones project about the difference betwee The Bare Bones project about the difference between industrial and organic grown chicken ánd the “Waterschatten” bowls made from used toiletpaper were part of the
exhibition Food: bigger than the plate in the @vamuseum in 2019. Although I was not able to visit the exhibition myself, having my work exhibited in such an astonishing museum is definitely a highlight!

This fall we celebrate our 10th anniversary! A nice moment to look back at some highlights of the pst years. The coming time I will share 10 precious memories.

I often get to speak about my work at events, but I often get to speak about my work at events, but speaking at the @dezeen day was definitely a highlight. Speaking in front of 400 design lovers was amazing! And to share the panel discussion with @mamoumani and @natsaiaudrey was so inspiring. The kind and great, and unfortunately late, @marcusfairs moderated the talk with so much charm and asked such relevant questions. A moment to never forget.

You can still watch this lecture on Dezeen.com

The RE-SEA ME project and the SEA ME collection we The RE-SEA ME project and the SEA ME collection were purchased by @centraalmuseum in 2017. When I delivered all the objects at the depot of the museum, it felt strange and beautiful. It would be the last time I could touch these pieces with my bare hands, after this they would always need to be touched with gloves.

I had wrapped all the objects carefully in bubble wrap, but they told me they would remove the plastic immediately, since art needs “to breathe”. So interesting!

It was the first time my work was exhibited in a museum and together with my mom I went to the opening. It was such a special moment, I felt so overwhelmed, proud and scared at the same time. A moment I will never forget.

This Dutch Design Week we are presenting a new pro This Dutch Design Week we are presenting a new project. In the interactive installation ‘Kairos,’ visitors are encouraged to momentarily set aside clock time and open up to the present moment. If we were to allocate more time to the processes of design and production, products would be more carefully considered, leading to greater longevity and reduced resource wastage.

In our contemporary society, it appears that we predominantly adhere to ‘Chronos’ time. The Greek god Chronos represents measurable time and continuity, rooted in a time perception driven by the clock. However, the Greeks also recognized another god of time: Kairos, the god of the opportune moment. By embracing rest, attentiveness, and meticulousness, the possibility of seizing this moment arises. Novel ideas and discoveries can thus flourish during a Kairos moment. Through mindfulness, creativity, and a sense of wonder in the present instant, we can conceive of opportunities that contribute to a brighter future.

Come play with our installation at the beautiful location of @ateliernl

Big thanks to @lisa_hardon for curating this exhibition
